About Clariti

Established by Chris Mole in 2015, built on a foundation of more than 30 years experience in print, radio and web media, Clariti is a specialist copywriting agency with a focus on digital marketing. I help small and medium-size businesses to generate more enquiries, leads and sales by harnessing the power of the written word.

30+ years experience

I began my career as a radio journalist in the 1980s. Writing for radio was high-pressure, under tight deadlines and my editor ruthlessly chopped any surplus words. Thus I learned to write clearly, concisely and in a conversational style, suited to radio – and as I later discovered, ideally suited to the web as well.

In 2001, I began to grasp the enormous potential of internet marketing. I was Press Secretary for a senior New Zealand politician, who was at the forefront of using the web and email to get his message out. I wrote a weekly political newsletter on his behalf, which went out to 30,000 subscribers by email.

Discovering the power of online marketing

In 2003, I decided to go out on my own as a freelance copywriter. I needed a website and in those days the web agencies charged an arm and a leg for even a simple site – so I decided to build one myself.

This website worked to bring in enquiries for my copywriting services – and from then on I was hooked by the combination of the internet and the written word as a means of marketing and selling.

I became an internet marketing junkie. I subscribed to the newsletters of all the top American internet marketers and devoured all their ideas on copywriting and marketing. During this time I was able to sort out the wheat from the chaff and figure out what really works when it comes to selling online.

Helping people to SELL online

From 2004 to 2014, I ran a web design agency, building and maintaining websites for more than 200 clients. During that time I became increasingly concerned about the number of websites that were not achieving their full potential, due to inadequate marketing. So, I developed the online marketing side of my web business and eventually realised that was where my greatest strengths lay.

There are many people who can design and code websites better than I can. But far fewer who truly grasp how to sell successfully online.

So in 2015 I changed the focus of my business back to copywriting. I have access to a team of talented web designers and developers to build websites, so I am freed up to work with a small number of clients – to help them achieve their full potential to generate more enquiries, leads and sales.
